Illustrations were created in conjunction with United Nations to be used on stamp sheets. A UN observance day was chosen to be the subject of the illustrations. The day chosen was October 31 which is World Cities Day.
World Cities Day is a UN Observance that celebrates and promotes the international community's interest in global urbanization and pushes for urban development around the world.
Each illustration is representative of a respecrtive developed city. Illustrations of New York, Tokyo, and Paris were created to celebrate these cities. Alogo and cancellation mark was then created to represent World Cities Day and was incorperated into each stamp sheet.
